Suad Amiry - Author & Founder of Riwaq
We talked to Suad Amiry about her book “Sharon and My Mother-in-Law: Ramallah Diaries”. We also discussed her work as the Founder of RIWAQ, a center founded to work on the rehabilitation and protection of architectural heritage in Palestine.
About Suad Amiry
Suad Amiry is a Palestinian writer, activist and architect She studied architecture at the American University of Beirut, the University of Michigan, and the University of Edinburgh, Scotland - completing her PhD in architecture.
Amiry has published a wide array of books including “Sharon and My Mother-in-Law” which has been translated into nearly 20 languages and was awarded the prestigious 2004 Viareggio Prize.She is the founder and former Director of the Riwaq: Centre for Architectural Conservation which was awarded the Aga Khan Award for Architecture in 2013.
