Reframe the Arab World.

We are a movement that exists to reframe the way people perceive the Arab world. We strive to challenge common misconceptions and encourage intellectual dialogue about the region's rich history, diverse culture, and extraordinary people. Join us in fostering a deeper appreciation for the Arab world and its unique contributions to the global community.

As a member, your contributions help sustain the platform to share stories, preserve culture, broaden perspectives, foster understanding and create new connections about the Arab world.

  • Being a Contributing Member is about helping build afikra as an independent platform that is changing the narrative about the Arab world. As a member, you will be connected to other Contributing Members around the world through:

    • Access to our online Members Community forum

    • Quarterly town hall meetings for members, volunteers, and staff.

    • Our monthly newsletter featuring announcement across the network.

    Most importantly, membership contributions keep afikra’s podcasts, community events, and educational material open and accessible.

  • It is totally up to you. You can contribute monthly or annually. Both plans will automatically renew, and you can cancel anytime. Annual contributions help us plan for the next year ahead, but both are amazing ♥️ and keep afikra going.

  • Yes of course! Afikra is a movement built on people contributing in many ways. This can include volunteering at local events, writing for our blog, giving talks at events, and much more. Reach out if you’d like to get involved!

  • There are no set fees. You can choose as much as you are able to contribute. We have suggested levels, but it is very much a “give what works for you” type of system.

  • Memberships are self-managed, you can cancel at any time. If you choose to contribute annually, your plan will automatically renew each year from the date you purchased it. If you choose to contribute monthly, your plan will renew each month.

    In each email confirming the success of your contribution, you will receive a special link to your donor portal where you can make edits and cancel your membership. If you have issues, you can always contact our team, here.

  • No. Membership contributions are not tax deductible. However, all contributions of $1000 or more are tax-deductible through our fiscal sponsor ArteEast. Click here to make your 100% US tax-deductible donation.

  • If you would like to become a contributing member but are unable to make the recurring payments right now, please reach out to us and we will accommodate you.
