DESCRIPTION
Arab and Muslim presence in the Iberian Peninsula lasted more than 800 years, from 711 to 1492. During this time, al-Andalus was a beacon of learning, and the city of Córdoba, the largest in Europe, became one of the leading cultural and economic centers throughout the Mediterranean Basin, Europe, and the Islamic world. Arabic presence didn’t only influence sciences, it also influenced and transformed the Spanish way of life, contributing to what defines modern day Spanish culture.
