This presentation focuses on Abedelrahman Munif's life and his most significant contributions to literature. The presentation goes from Munif's early life, education, political activism and experience working in the oil industry to his career as a writer. The main question addressed here is: how did Munif change the Arabic novel? His most acclaimed novel Cities Of Salt is used to show how the author fused history and fiction to create a literary masterpiece that changed the course of Arabic literature in the late 20th century.
