DESCRIPTION
In this presentation, Tala explains how tatreez, or Arab embroidery, serves as a form of cultural identity and expression for Palestinians. She explains how tatreez is typically embroidered onto dresses, and that these dresses vary from region to region. Therefore, the dress a woman wears tells the story of who she is and where she is from. She also discusses how tatreez played a role in Palestinian history, and how this art form has become an intangible part of Palestinian cultural heritage.
