In this session of the CommunityJameel x afikra COP28 Conversation Series, Dr #GuyoRoba, Head of Jameel Observatory and Professor #RamiZurayk discuss the contribution of pastoralists in East Africa and the Arab region to our food systems and how climate change threatens to upend those systems.

Guyo Roba is head of the Jameel Observatory for Food Security Early Action, based at the International Livestock Research Institute in Kenya. Guyo comes from the Borana pastoralist community in Northern Kenya and brings personal and technical insights to his work with dryland communities.

Dr Rami Zurayk is a professor at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences at the American University of Beirut, Landscape Design and Ecosystem Management Department. He is a founding member of the Arab Food Sovereignty Network.
